Warranty from Libyan Motors - Beston
Libyan Motors offers a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first) covering manufacturing defects, parts, and labor for Piston vehicles sold by the company.
The warranty begins on the day of delivery following the pre-delivery inspection and is transferable from one owner to another without the need to contact the company.
During the warranty period, the vehicle owner must have the necessary inspections and routine maintenance performed at their own expense and on schedule at one of the service centers authorized by the Libyan Motors Company, located in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Misrata.
– The warranty covers the replacement or repair of defective parts in accordance with technical specifications, and the replaced parts become the property of the company.
– If a vehicle tracking device is installed outside of Al-Maharat Company’s service centers, the warranty on the vehicle’s electrical systems will be void.
– If a vehicle tracking system is installed under the supervision of one of the company’s service centers, the warranty on the vehicle’s battery is void (since the tracking system consumes the vehicle’s electricity even when the vehicle is stationary, leading to faster battery deterioration, especially when the vehicle is not in use).
– The warranty covers all electrical and mechanical faults resulting from manufacturing defects but does not cover the fuel system (due to poor fuel quality).
– The warranty does not cover or entitle the customer to return the vehicle; rather, it is limited to free repairs upon discovery of a manufacturing defect.
– The warranty does not cover traffic accidents, tires, or the vehicle’s undercarriage resulting from misuse, driving into potholes, colliding with curbs, or similar incidents.
Warranty claims will not be accepted in the following cases:
1 - If the vehicle is not serviced at the scheduled intervals.
2 - If the vehicle is serviced or repaired by a third party or an unauthorized repair shop.
3 - If additions, modifications, or changes to the vehicle’s specifications are made by an unauthorized repair shop.
4 - If non-genuine or unauthorized spare parts are installed in the vehicle.
5 - If the operating instructions or service schedules were not followed.
6 - If the issue relates to abnormal wear and tear, accidents, rough operation, sports use, or submersion in water.
The vehicle must be serviced at a Libyan auto repair shop, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule.
No maintenance visits may be missed during the warranty period.
The warranty covers only damage to parts resulting from manufacturing defects and workmanship errors; it does not cover damage resulting from misuse, such as: external damage, the use of non-genuine replacement parts, submersion in deep water, and so on.
General Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not apply if the defect or damage is caused by:
– Motor sports activities, accidents, or unauthorized modifications.
– Use of non-genuine parts or repairs performed at unauthorized workshops.
– Performance modifications or overloading the vehicle beyond the permitted limits.
– Natural disasters (such as floods, earthquakes, and sandstorms).
– External factors such as chemical damage (paint damage, rust, etc.).
– Using lubricants, fuels, or cleaning products that are not recommended.
– Failure to follow the maintenance schedules outlined in this manual.
Warranty Coverage Limits: Parts subject to normal wear and tear resulting from normal use.
– Glass damage, unless it is clearly proven to be a manufacturing or installation defect, including cracks or scratches in the glass.
– Failure to immediately notify the customer of any malfunction or damage, or to document it; or failure to provide an immediate opportunity for repair.
– Refusal to repair any malfunction or defect discovered during a visit to the workshop. In this case, the warranty is void for the affected components and any resulting damage.
– Any consequential losses, damages, or expenses resulting from any defect.
– All repairs not specifically related to the warranty.
– Battery maintenance or inspection; chassis alignment check.
– Reset if no defects are found in any part.
– Wheel and tire balancing, wheel alignment, and tire pressure checks.
– Cleaning and adjusting windshield washer nozzles. Functionality checks and diagnostics, including road tests; checking, topping off, and changing oils and fluids; cleaning the fuel system, including potential side effects; adjusting the parking brake.
Maintenance Provisions
An additional scope of maintenance services, as specified by the manufacturer, is as follows:
– The engine oil level must be maintained at a specified level. When changing the engine oil, use the brand and model recommended by Libyan Motors.
– The customer is responsible for performing all routine maintenance services every 10,000 km or every 6 months (whichever comes first) at a workshop authorized by Libyan Engines, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
– The warranty does not cover any damage resulting from failure to comply with routine maintenance specifications.
– The maintenance interval is based on normal driving conditions. If the vehicle is used under the following severe conditions for extended periods, it is recommended to increase the maintenance interval.
– Service intervals and the scope of maintenance services are subject to change according to the manufacturer’s technical requirements without prior notice.
Maintenance intervals, the frequency of routine maintenance, or shortening the maintenance cycle:
– Frequent short trips (less than 10 kilometers) with a cold engine (more than an hour after shutdown).
– Prolonged idling or driving long distances at low speeds for extended periods.
– The vehicle is frequently driven at high speeds, and driving times are excessively long.
– The vehicle stops and starts frequently on city streets with light traffic.
– The vehicle is frequently driven on sandy or dusty roads, or on rough, muddy, or snowy roads.
– The vehicle is used as a commercial vehicle, such as a taxi or police car, etc.
– Gasoline that does not meet the required quality standards is used in the vehicle.
– To ensure compliance with engine maintenance intervals, all engines are filled with specially formulated synthetic engine oil. The engine oil has been carefully selected, taking into account its service life, cold-start characteristics, fuel consumption, and environmental impact.
– If engine oil of the grade and viscosity specified in the owner’s manual is not used, optimal performance of the engine components cannot be guaranteed, and this may lead to premature damage, resulting in warranty rejection.
Libyan Engines recommends that periodic maintenance be performed at one of its authorized service centers.

Change of Ownership
All benefits of the Piston Warranty are transferable between private vehicle owners during the warranty period (subject to the terms and conditions of the warranty set forth in this booklet).
If you are not the original owner of this Piston warranty, please notify us of the change in ownership by contacting your local Piston dealer. If you purchased this vehicle from a private individual (rather than an authorized Piston dealer), you must verify your warranty coverage with your local Piston dealer. If the vehicle has not been serviced according to the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, you may not be eligible for some or all of the warranty coverage and benefits. It is the new owner’s responsibility to verify that the vehicle is covered by the Piston warranty. If you have any questions, please contact your local dealer, who will be able to clarify the matter.
